University of New Hampshire Extension announced on May 11 that registration is open for the 4-H Discovery Days program, which will take place during the summer of 2026. The program offers hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) designed to foster creativity and curiosity among participating youth.
The initiative aims to provide children with both fun and educational experiences over the summer months. According to University of New Hampshire Extension, “Enroll them in 4-H Discovery Days, where they’ll explore hands-on activities in STEM that ignite creativity and inspire curiosity.” The program will conclude with a celebration event called the 4-H STEMFEST at Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough this August.
Sessions vary by location, date, time, and age group. For example, Makers Mill in Wolfeboro will host three-day sessions from June 23 to June 25 for children ages seven and up. Another session at NH Boat Museum in Moultonborough is scheduled for June 29, June 30, and July 1 for ages eight through twelve. Weekly programs are also planned at Makers Mill starting July 7 through August 4. All participants must be enrolled using ZSuite; guidance on enrollment is available online.
The University of New Hampshire Extension serves as the outreach arm of the university by partnering with county, state, and federal entities for programming; it utilizes county offices as well as specialized facilities such as a soil testing lab and engages roughly six thousand volunteers annually across fourteen programs according to the official website.
If accommodations are needed to participate—including language access services—families are encouraged to contact Karen Deighan prior to attending any events. The organization said it will make reasonable efforts to meet individual needs free of charge.
