Tyler Brand of Dartmouth men’s golf and Fiona O’Keeffe of Dartmouth women’s lacrosse were named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week, according to an announcement on Apr. 21.
The weekly recognition from DartmouthSports.com highlights one male and one female student-athlete or team for their achievements in recent competitions.
Brand, a junior from Richmond, Virginia, was the top performer for Dartmouth at the Roar-EE Invitational as the Big Green men’s golf team concluded its regular season with a fourth-place finish. He completed the two-round tournament at three under par. In his opening round, Brand recorded five birdies to post a score of two under par (70). In the second round, he made 14 pars, one birdie, and an eagle to finish one under par.
O’Keeffe, also a junior from Boston, Massachusetts, played a key role for Dartmouth women’s lacrosse as they secured two double-digit victories during the week. She contributed three assists and took a shot on goal against UMass-Lowell on Tuesday. On Saturday against Penn, O’Keeffe scored seven goals and added an assist; all seven shots she took found their mark. Two goals came from free position shots while her third goal became the eventual game-winner.
The weekly Athlete of the Week feature continues to recognize outstanding performances by Dartmouth student-athletes across various sports.
