The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announced that the concrete bridge deck will be placed on the new bridge carrying Interstate 89 northbound over the Connecticut River on two separate days, Wednesday, May 27 and Monday, June 1.
According to the department, weather permitting, work will occur from 5:00 AM until 4:00 PM each day and require closure of the right lane on I-89 northbound in Lebanon near Exit 20 and the Vermont state line. Once construction is complete each day, the lane closure will be removed.
The department said road users may experience delays on I-89 northbound and at the Exit 20 northbound on and off ramp in Lebanon during this construction event. “Road users should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs. Road users are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/.”
R.S. Audley of Bow is serving as prime contractor for this $43 million project, which is anticipated to be complete in fall of 2026.
