U.S. Representative Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st district, recently used his social media account to highlight local community engagement, criticize federal health care policy changes affecting veterans, and discuss legislative efforts on energy affordability for his constituents.
On February 5, 2026, Pappas marked the centennial celebration of a Greek-American organization in Manchester by posting: “Honored to join the Sons of Pericles in Manchester this weekend to celebrate 100 years of community service, civic engagement, and celebrating Greek culture and history! https://t.co/FHovzWDNLn”.
In a post published late on February 6, Pappas expressed concerns over changes in veterans’ health care access under former President Donald Trump’s administration. He wrote: “The Trump administration is taking away health care from veterans and their families who have served our country. They’re blocking access for veterans without even providing exceptions for rape or incest. Our veterans deserve better. https://t.co/P3mFyN6Ap2”.
Addressing economic concerns related to seasonal weather, Pappas posted on the morning of February 6 about supporting Granite Staters with energy costs: “As we experience some of the coldest months of the year, Granite Staters are rightly concerned about energy costs and how they can afford to heat their homes. I visited Great Bay Services to discuss my legislation that will help New Hampshire families afford their energy bills. https://t.co/rluLDdDPwC”.
Chris Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st congressional district since 2019 after succeeding Carol Shea-Porter and previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives between 2002 and 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980, he remains an active member of that community and holds a BA from Harvard University (https://www.congress.gov/member/chris-pappas/P000614).
