Chris Pappas, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, has expressed his views on various issues through a series of tweets. His posts address recent incidents of violence, support for the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, and the ongoing concern over gun violence.
On June 2, 2025, Pappas addressed a violent attack targeting the Jewish community. He conveyed his condolences and condemned acts of hate and antisemitism: “My thoughts are with the victims of this violent attack, their families, and the entire Jewish community.” He emphasized that such acts have no place in America.
Later that day, he shared his experience at a Pride event in Portsmouth: “Loved kicking off #Pride yesterday in Portsmouth!” Pappas highlighted the importance of celebrating authenticity while standing against discrimination faced by the LGBTQ+ community.
On June 3, 2025, Pappas focused on gun violence awareness: “It is #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth.” He reiterated his commitment to advocating for reforms aimed at reducing gun violence to ensure safer communities.
Chris Pappas has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Carol Shea-Porter. Prior to this role, he was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and a Harvard University graduate with a BA obtained in 2002, he continues to reside in Manchester.
