Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, has used his social media platform to address several legislative issues and recent developments in Congress.
On July 22, 2025, Pappas criticized recent proposed changes to Medicaid funding, stating on Twitter: “The Big Ugly Law makes devastating cuts to Medicaid, which our nursing homes and seniors rely on. I talked about how these cuts will harm the Hillsborough County Nursing Home on WMUR. https://t.co/FnFy4tXGO8”
A day later, on July 23, he highlighted ongoing work in the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee regarding legislation he sponsored: “Today in the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, we will be marking up my bipartisan Veterans’ Transition to Trucking Act. Tune in. https://t.co/ji0sjlgtPW”
On July 24, Pappas commented on procedural actions taken by House Republicans related to a controversial set of documents: “It’s ridiculous that House Republicans canceled votes on Thursday because they are scared of voting on the Epstein files. Release the files and let’s get back to work. Despite this, watch my Rewind Video to hear some things I got done this week. https://t.co/ykqQ80fYXB”
Pappas has served as New Hampshire’s representative in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 and previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born and residing in Manchester, New Hampshire, Pappas is a Harvard University graduate with a BA earned in 2002.
