Chris Pappas, a U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, has been vocal on several issues through his recent tweets. Serving in Congress since 2019, Pappas has taken stances on Social Security, veterans’ advocacy, and economic policies under the Trump administration.

On March 6, 2025, Pappas highlighted the importance of Social Security for various groups in society. He stated: “Social Security helps seniors, people with disabilities, and families put food on the table, pay the rent, heat their homes, cover medical bills, and more.” He also mentioned joining over 150 colleagues to demand a halt to plans that would reduce Social Security benefits.

Later that day, Pappas expressed gratitude towards local Veterans of Foreign Wars representatives during a meeting in Washington. On March 6, he tweeted: “Great to sit down with our local Veterans of Foreign Wars representatives this week in Washington. Thank you for your advocacy on behalf of all New Hampshire veterans!”

On March 7, 2025, Pappas criticized tariffs imposed during President Trump’s administration. He warned about rising costs associated with these tariffs by stating: “Under President Trump’s across-the-board tariffs, costs will rise: Gas Groceries Housing Home heating oil “ He committed to advocating for their complete rescission and pursuing measures that effectively address cost concerns for residents of New Hampshire.
