On February 12, 2025, Rep. Pappas expressed his dedication to advocating for veterans’ rights and benefits. He stated, “I’ll always stand up for veterans and fight to protect the benefits and services they earned while serving our country.” This message was part of his opening remarks at his first hearing as Ranking Member of the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

Later that day, Pappas addressed the issue of xylazine-related overdoses in New Hampshire. He tweeted on February 12, 2025: “The illegal use of xylazine is resulting in fatal overdoses across NH. Law enforcement need every tool available to crack down on drug traffickers and save lives.” He introduced a bill aimed at tracking the manufacture of xylazine to combat illegal trafficking.

On February 13, 2025, Rep. Pappas highlighted his meeting with New Hampshire fire chiefs. He noted their essential role in community safety by stating: “Firefighters do critical work to keep our communities safe every day, and I will always fight to ensure they have the tools and resources they need to answer the call.”
