Rep. Chris Pappas, a U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, has recently used social media to address several issues affecting his constituents, including veterans’ benefits, drought relief efforts, and civil rights advocacy.
On January 18, 2026, Pappas emphasized the importance of supporting Medal of Honor recipients after their military service. He stated, “It is our responsibility as Americans to ensure that Medal of Honor recipients are financially secure after their military service is over. I worked across the aisle to get this done. I will always work to ensure we keep our promise to our service members and veterans.”
Later that day, Pappas highlighted resources available for residents affected by ongoing drought conditions in New Hampshire. In his tweet from January 18, he wrote, “As we continue to face a drought in many communities across the state, New Hampshire households with water supply issues can now apply for emergency assistance.. On January 19, Pappas reflected on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., urging continued commitment to civil rights and public service: “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a champion for civil rights, social justice, and equality. His work remains unfinished. We must continue to stand shoulder to shoulder in the fight for a better union for all and honor his legacy by living our lives in service to others.”
Pappas’s recent communications reflect both ongoing legislative efforts and constituent services priorities in New Hampshire’s 1st district—a seat he has held since succeeding Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 after prior service in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and an alumnus of Harvard University (BA, 2002), Pappas continues to reside in Manchester while serving his district.
