Rep. Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several legislative and policy issues on his social media account.
On July 30, 2025, Pappas announced a live event with a brief post: “We’re live. https://t.co/2fZdZhNJ9D”.
The following day, Pappas highlighted concerns about veterans’ housing security in the aftermath of the Trump administration’s decision to end VASP (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program). On July 31, he posted: “80,000 veterans have been at risk of losing their homes since the Trump administration abruptly ended VASP. I’m relieved to see this become law to address a problem they created, and it must be implemented properly to help veterans stay in their homes.”
Later that same day, Pappas commented on the effects of recent health care legislation: “The Big, Ugly Law took health care away from millions of Americans and has a very steep cost for impacted families, for our health care centers, and for our communities. There’s real concern hospitals won’t be able to absorb the costs of care for the now much larger portion of”
Pappas has served as U.S. Representative since 2019 after succeeding Carol Shea-Porter. He previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and an alumnus of Harvard University with a BA earned in 2002, Pappas continues to reside in Manchester while representing his constituents.
