Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, posted a series of messages on his official Twitter account addressing support for veterans, healthcare access, and educational funding.
On May 16, 2026, Pappas marked Armed Forces Day by expressing gratitude to those who have served in the military. He wrote: “On #ArmedForcesDay, we recognize all those who have served our country at home and abroad. Thank you for your service.”
Two days later, on May 18, 2026, Pappas highlighted the needs of Americans relying on supplemental oxygen and promoted bipartisan legislation aimed at supporting them. He stated: “The 1.5 million Americans who rely on supplemental oxygen deserve access to the right type of care for their needs. That’s exactly what the bipartisan SOAR Act does.”
Later that same day, Pappas addressed concerns about federal funding delays affecting TRIO Upward Bound programs. He wrote: “TRIO Upward Bound programs help low-income students, students who would be the first in their families to earn a degree, and students with disabilities succeed. Funding delays jeopardize their futures. The administration needs to deliver these promised funds now.”
Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st district in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Carol Shea-Porter and previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and a graduate of Harvard University with a BA earned in 2002, he continues to reside in Manchester.
