Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, has recently addressed issues of gender pay equity and the national housing crisis through a series of posts on his official social media account.

Later that day, he called for legislative action to address wage disparities between men and women. In his post dated March 26, 2026, Pappas stated: “Women deserve equal pay for equal work. It’s past time we eliminate the wage gap.
Let’s pass the Paycheck Fairness Act and ensure women are paid what they’re owed. #EqualPayDay”.

Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st District in Congress since succeeding Carol Shea-Porter in 2019. He previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1980, Pappas is currently 42 years old and resides in Manchester. He graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002.
