Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, has used his social media platform to address concerns about energy costs, healthcare affordability, and the protection of critical community services.

On October 14, 2025, Pappas announced his participation in a congressional effort regarding energy projects, stating, “I’ve joined over 160 of my colleagues in calling on the Department to reinstate these projects that were going to help lower energy costs for our communities. We must continue to make smart investments that lower costs, and I’ll continue fighting to make that the case.”

The following day, October 15, 2025, Pappas commented on legislative proceedings in Washington, D.C., writing, “I’m back in D.C. today, ready to get to work, but Speaker Johnson has once again canceled votes because he doesn’t want people here working together and figuring out a way to move forward and protect families from skyrocketing health care costs. This is a real crisis for Granite”.

Later that same day, Pappas addressed recent actions by the administration concerning public health services: “The administration illegally laid off workers who run services like the 988 crisis line and critical substance abuse programs, threatening the well-being of our communities. I’m glad this has been halted, and I will keep fighting to protect these services.”

Pappas’s statements come amid ongoing debates in Congress over energy investments and healthcare policy. The congressman has a history of public service in New Hampshire, having previously served in the state House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010 before being elected to Congress in 2019. Born in Manchester in 1980, Pappas holds a degree from Harvard University.
