Rep. Chris Pappas, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, recently expressed his concerns on social media regarding the potential impacts of proposed budget cuts by House Republicans. The tweets highlighted his efforts to address these issues with community leaders and constituents.

On February 18, 2025, Rep. Pappas posted about the “House Republicans’ budget draft” which he claims includes “drastic cuts that will threaten the future of health care access, Medicaid, and SNAP benefits to instead fund tax cuts for billionaires.” He mentioned meeting with community leaders to discuss the potential impact on residents of New Hampshire, also known as Granite Staters. “House Republicans’ budget draft contains drastic cuts that will threaten the future of health care access, Medicaid, and SNAP benefits to instead fund tax cuts for billionaires.”

He provided a link for further reading about a roundtable discussion on this topic. “I will do everything I can to stop a budget that places the burden of these cuts on New Hampshire families and seniors.”

The following day, February 19, 2025, Rep. Pappas tweeted about engaging with community members in Bedford to answer questions regarding developments in Washington D.C., emphasizing his dedication to protecting New Hampshire families and businesses from harmful policies. “Last night I answered questions from community members in Bedford about what’s happening in Washington and shared how I’m working to protect Granite Staters.”
