Rep. Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his legislative work and community involvement through a series of posts on his social media account.
On January 12, 2026, Pappas announced that the House unanimously passed legislation he supported to maintain funding for the Crime Victims Fund. He wrote: “NEW: The House unanimously passed legislation I backed to ensure the Crime Victims Fund remains funded and resources remain available to victims of domestic violence, rape, and more in New Hampshire and across the country.”
Later that day, Pappas highlighted his participation in a local event honoring first responders. On January 12, 2026, he posted: “Joining the @DerryFire’s uncoupling ceremony for their new fire station was a great start to the week. Thank you to the members of the Derry Fire Department and Chief Laro for your service and commitment to the community.”
On January 13, 2026, Pappas reported on another legislative achievement regarding military veterans. He stated: “SIGNED INTO LAW: The Medal of Honor Act I led this legislation in the House to increase the pension for the distinguished men and women of our military who are Medal of Honor recipients. It’s now law.”
Chris Pappas has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Carol Shea-Porter. He also previously held office in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980, Pappas continues to reside there today. He is an alumnus of Harvard University with a Bachelor’s degree earned in 2002.
