Rep. Chris Pappas, a U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, has recently shared updates on his legislative priorities and community engagement through several social media posts.
On March 31, 2026, Pappas addressed the issue of congressional privileges at airports, stating, “As our TSA agents work hard through incredibly challenging conditions, members of Congress should not be afforded special treatment like cutting the line which can cause further delays and disruptions. That’s why I’m supporting the End Special Treatment for Congress at Airports”.
Later that day, he announced the opening of an annual event for young artists: “This 2026 Congressional Art Competition is officially open! For the guidelines and instructions https://t.co/lMFFYVpCB3 https://t.co/NjcAIEMJ6K”.
On April 1, 2026, Pappas highlighted his visit to a local community program in Laconia: “Great to kick off the day with the Belknap-Merrimack Community Action Program in Laconia to get an update on their Head Start and WIC programs. Early and nutrition education are game-changers for children and families to learn, grow, and thrive, so I’ll always work to ensure https://t.co/OgAv1SwNUG”.
Pappas has been active in public service for more than two decades. He began his political career in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010 before being elected to Congress in 2019. Born in Manchester in 1980 and currently residing there at age 42, Pappas graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 2002.
