Rep. Chris Pappas, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, has recently addressed several pertinent topics through his social media outreach. Pappas, who succeeded Carol Shea-Porter in 2019, continues to share his views on education and labor rights, as well as providing updates from Washington.

On May 1, 2025, Pappas shared his commitment to improving public education by meeting with local education leaders. He posted, “Sat down with leaders of the New Hampshire branch of the National Educators Association to discuss how we can better support students and strengthen public education.” Pappas emphasizes the importance of equipping students with adequate resources, stating, “Students of today are the leaders of the future.”

The next day, on May 2, 2025, he turned his attention to labor rights, particularly regarding federal employees. He tweeted, “Like all workers, federal employees at Portsmouth’s National Passport Center deserve the right to collectively bargain for fair wages and safe working conditions, but these rights are under attack by the Trump administration.” Pappas discussed this matter with the Vice President of the National Federation of Federal Employees.

Later, on the evening of May 2, 2025, Pappas invited his followers to stay informed on his activities in Congress by watching a summary video. He announced, “It was a busy week in Washington, and there’s a lot to catch up on. Watch my Rewind video here.”

Chris Pappas was born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1980 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University, which he earned in 2002. Prior to his current role, he served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010.
