Rep. Chris Pappas, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, has been actively engaging with various community and legislative matters as reflected in his recent social media updates.
On June 4, 2025, Rep. Pappas took to the House floor to “honor the life and memory of Hope Makris”, a notable businesswoman and community leader from Laconia. He acknowledged her century-long legacy of life and work.
The following day, June 5, 2025, Rep. Pappas participated in a hearing on the future of Coast Guard programs held by the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee. He invited the public to “tune in” to this important discussion.
Later that day, Rep. Pappas expressed his appreciation for local aviators by stating he was “always glad to meet with Granite State pilots!” He thanked them for their dedication to ensuring safety in air travel.
Chris Pappas has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Carol Shea-Porter. Prior to his congressional role, he was part of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 until 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980, he graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 2002.
