Rep. Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on various initiatives through his social media account. These include efforts to improve mental health services in New Hampshire, support for domestic semiconductor manufacturing, and actions against the illegal use of xylazine.

On December 5, 2024, Rep. Chris Pappas met with Susan Stearns, Executive Director of NAMI New Hampshire, to discuss mental health needs in the state. He emphasized the importance of increasing access to mental health care and raising awareness about available resources: “Yesterday I met with @NAMI_NH Executive Director Susan Stearns about efforts to address New Hampshire’s mental health needs. We must increase access to mental health care and awareness of available resources so that all Granite Staters have the support they need.”

On December 6, 2024, Rep. Pappas highlighted the significance of domestic semiconductor manufacturing for national security and job creation. He stated that funding will aid BAE Systems in producing critical semiconductors: “Domestic manufacturing of semiconductors protects our national security, strengthens our supply chains, and creates more good-paying jobs in our growing tech industry. This funding will support BAE Systems and its work producing critical semiconductors.”

Later that day, Rep. Pappas addressed the issue of xylazine overdoses in New Hampshire by joining a bipartisan effort to pass legislation aimed at providing law enforcement with resources to combat drug trafficking: “The illegal use of xylazine is resulting in fatal overdoses across NH. We must take action. That’s why I joined a bipartisan group calling for the passage of legislation to ensure law enforcement has the resources to crack down on drug traffickers.”
