Rep. Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to share updates on healthcare policy, government operations, and environmental protection.

On October 17, 2025, Pappas highlighted key aspects of the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits in a post: “5 things you should know about the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits: 1. They lower health insurance prices for millions. 2. 78% of Americans support them. 3. We need to act before open enrollment starts on Nov. 1st. 4. If we don’t, people’s premiums are set to skyrocket.”

Later that day, he provided an update regarding legislative efforts: “Here is an update on my work to end the government shutdown, address health care costs, and fight back against the Trump administration illegally firing federal workers.” This statement references ongoing political disputes over federal worker protections and budget negotiations.

On October 18, Pappas recognized a milestone in environmental legislation: “Today marks 53 years of the Clean Water Act! Everyone deserves clean water, and while we celebrate the CWA, we must continue to hold polluters accountable. I’m fighting to pass my Clean Water Standards for PFAS Act to build on this progress and protect families from PFAS”.

Chris Pappas has served in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 and previously held office in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and a Harvard University graduate with a BA earned in 2002, Pappas has focused his congressional work on issues such as healthcare affordability and environmental safety.
