Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, recently highlighted his ongoing work and meetings with local organizations and constituents through a series of posts on social media.

On September 15, 2025, Pappas shared his commitment to veterans after meeting with representatives from the Veterans of Foreign Wars in New Hampshire. He stated, “It is always great to meet with New Hampshire’s local Veterans of Foreign Wars representatives. I’m proud to fight for our veterans on the House Veterans Affairs Committee and will continue working to get things done for all who have served.”

The following day, on September 16, he acknowledged his engagement with advocates from the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation. In his post, Pappas wrote, “Last week I met with Granite Staters representing the @NHWomensFndn! Thank you for everything you do for women and girls across New Hampshire, from fighting for reproductive rights to demanding equality and representation in all areas of life. I stand with you in this fight.”

Later that same day, Pappas addressed economic policy concerns regarding tariffs implemented during former President Trump’s administration. He commented on legislative efforts related to these tariffs: “President Trump’s tariffs are a national sales tax on the American people – raising prices for families & leaving less money in your pocket. House Republicans are trying to block our efforts to push back against this wrongheaded policy. I’m voting no.”

Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District since succeeding Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 and previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980, he continues to reside there today and holds a BA from Harvard University.
