Representative Chris Pappas, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st District since 2019, has recently addressed several key issues through his social media posts. Pappas, a Manchester native and Harvard graduate, discussed legislative efforts to honor service members, voiced concerns about the impact of recent Republican legislation on constituents’ health care and living costs, and emphasized the importance of supporting nurses in New Hampshire.
On July 14, 2025, Pappas highlighted his involvement in a bipartisan initiative aimed at supporting local memorials for first responders and military personnel. He stated: “First responders, members of the military, and all those who have served our nation deserve to be honored and remembered for their service and sacrifice. I helped introduce a bipartisan bill that would help communities build, maintain, and restore memorials honoring our heroes.”
Later that day, Pappas expressed concerns regarding recent Republican-backed legislation affecting residents of New Hampshire’s First District. In his post dated July 14, 2025 he wrote: “Directly from people of New Hampshire’s First District, I am hearing that this Republican law will kick them off their health care, raise their medical and energy costs, and leave them unable to put food on the table. I’ll keep working to combat it.”
On July 15, 2025, Pappas turned attention to healthcare workers in his district. He noted: “Nurses are the backbone of our health care system, and I am grateful for all those in this field. I was glad to talk with New Hampshire nurses about strengthening and supporting our workforce.”
Chris Pappas replaced Carol Shea-Porter in Congress in 2019 after serving in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010.
