Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, has recently posted a series of messages on his social media account addressing topics ranging from Black History Month to child protection legislation and community safety.
On February 1, 2026, Pappas recognized the significance of Black History Month by stating, “Black History is an essential part of our American story and New Hampshire’s story. As we mark 100 years since the first official celebration of Black History, we continue to honor the achievements and contributions of Black Americans who have shaped our nation and our state.”
The following day, on February 2, he highlighted efforts to combat child exploitation and abuse through bipartisan legislation. Pappas wrote, “The fight against child exploitation and abuse requires an all hands-on-deck-effort. My bipartisan Stop Crimes Against Children Act would ensure that leaders from nonprofits and universities are part of the national strategy to keep children safe alongside law enforcement…”
On February 3, Pappas expressed support for emergency responders in Nashua after a hazardous incident: “Grateful to the first responders who ran into harm’s way at this dangerous situation in Nashua. Hoping for a fast recovery for the firefighters who were injured in the line of duty as well as the community members who were impacted.”
Chris Pappas has served in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019. He previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1980, Pappas graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 2002 and continues to reside in Manchester.
