Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, recently posted a series of messages on social media highlighting his legislative priorities and community engagements.

On August 4, 2025, Pappas recognized the anniversary of the United States Coast Guard, writing, “Happy Birthday to @USCG! Thank you for 235 years of service and being ‘always ready’ to protect our communities and defend our nation. #SemperParatus”.

Later that day, he visited a local healthcare facility alongside another representative. He stated on August 4, “Today I stopped by St. Joseph Hospital with @RepGoodlander to discuss the impacts of Medicaid cuts on their operations and patient care. I’ll continue working to support New Hampshire health care centers and the critical work they do to serve Granite Staters.”

The following day, Pappas addressed healthcare policy at the federal level. On August 5, he wrote, “Planned Parenthood provides preventative care, STI testing, cancer screenings, and other lifesaving services. I introduced legislation to repeal unconstitutional provisions in the Big Ugly Bill that defund Planned Parenthood and take away essential care from Granite Staters.”

Pappas has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Carol Shea-Porter and previously held office in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and a graduate of Harvard University with a BA in 2002, Pappas continues to focus on issues affecting his constituents in New Hampshire’s 1st District.
