Rep. Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on October 16, 2025, addressing both local community milestones and national health care policy.
In his first post of the day, Pappas acknowledged a significant anniversary for a local institution: “The Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Manchester has been serving its community for 120 years now. I’m grateful for all it and its parishioners have done for our community.” (October 16, 2025)
Later, Pappas turned his attention to health care policy and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). He highlighted bipartisan concerns about the expiration of ACA premium tax credits: “Insurance commissioners, Republicans and Democrats, have raised the alarm on the need for Congress to extend ACA premium tax credits – so people can afford their insurance and get the care they need. I’m fighting for Granite Staters & their health care.” (October 16, 2025)
In a subsequent tweet that same evening, Pappas emphasized the urgency of congressional action before the upcoming Open Enrollment period: “Congress must extend the ACA premium tax credits before Open Enrollment begins Nov. 1st so Granite Staters’ health insurance costs don’t massively increase, forcing families to choose between health care and other essentials. Today I checked in with NH community health centers,” (October 16, 2025)
Chris Pappas has served as U.S. Representative for New Hampshire’s 1st District since 2019. He succeeded Carol Shea-Porter and previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Pappas was born in Manchester in 1980 and continues to reside there. He is a graduate of Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree earned in 2002.
