U.S. Representative Chris Pappas, who serves New Hampshire’s 1st district, recently used his social media platform to address legislative efforts and community concerns related to healthcare access in his state.
On August 2, 2025, Pappas stated, “I helped introduce legislation to repeal unconstitutional provisions in the Big Ugly Bill that defund Planned Parenthood. I firmly believe that people in New Hampshire and across the country deserve access to the basic care that they need.”
Later that same day, he posted about a visit to a local healthcare provider: “On Friday I visited HealthFirst Family Care Center to speak with them about how harmful cuts to Medicaid will impact them as well as Granite Staters’ ability to get the care they need at a price they can afford.”
On August 4, Pappas invited constituents who missed a recent event to catch up on his outreach efforts: “If you couldn’t make my virtual town hall on Wednesday, watch it here!”
Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st congressional district since 2019 after replacing Carol Shea-Porter. He previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010 and is originally from Manchester, where he currently resides. Born in 1980, Pappas graduated from Harvard University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
