Rep. Chris Pappas, representing New Hampshire’s 1st District in the U.S. Congress and known for his active engagement in state affairs, articulated his stance on several pertinent issues through a series of tweets. A Harvard University graduate with over six years of legislative experience, Pappas has been serving in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 after a tenure in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010.
On April 28, 2025, Pappas expressed his concerns regarding a budget proposal from Congressional Republicans. He tweeted, “Republicans in Congress continue to push forward with a partisan budget that will slash Medicaid. I sat down with New Hampshire health care providers and advocates to discuss how these severe cuts would hurt families in need of health care and services.”
Later that same day, he shared a moment of recognition for military members, stating his gratitude to those involved in the Granite State Warriors Award ceremony. Pappas tweeted, “Great to join the NH Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America for the Granite State Warriors Award ceremony! Thank you to Kent Eberhardt, Keith Lacasse, and Service Credit Union for supporting our military members and families. Congratulations on this recognition!”
In a subsequent message on April 29, 2025, Pappas voiced his support for the Equality Act. He noted, “Full equality under the law. Nothing less, nothing more. That’s what the Equality Act is going to deliver and what it means to LGBTQ+ Americans who for far too long have gone without the same legal protections guaranteed to others. Let’s pass it and move our nation forward.”
Chris Pappas, born in Manchester, New Hampshire, is 42 years old and continues to advocate for healthcare, military families, and legal equality.
