Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, recently addressed a range of policy issues and honored veterans in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On March 27, 2026, Pappas outlined several legislative priorities in a post: “Let’s talk about:
Funding essential services like TSA
Suspending the federal gas tax
Combating claim sharks defrauding veterans
Tackling the housing crisis https://t.co/W0RnDPllb3″.
Two days later, on March 29, he paid tribute to Vietnam War veterans: “On #VietnamWarVeteransDay, we pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of America’s Vietnam War veterans.
We honor these heroes and their families and thank them for their service and sacrifice.”
Addressing concerns about fraud targeting veterans, Pappas posted on March 30: “Claim sharks are now using robocallers and veterans’ personal information to spam VA hotlines about their benefits, identify any increases, and send the veteran a bill for thousands of dollars.
I’m introducing new legislation to stop this predatory practice and protect veterans https://t.co/KOXHKcJWPs“.
Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st District in Congress since succeeding Carol Shea-Porter in 2019. He previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980, Pappas is an alumnus of Harvard University (BA, 2002) and continues to reside in Manchester.
