Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, addressed several legislative and political issues in a series of posts on January 21, 2026.

In a post published at 15:47 UTC, Pappas highlighted recent bipartisan efforts to support military personnel: “The Medal of Honor is our nation’s highest military decoration, symbolizing the valor the distinguished men and women of our military displayed in extraordinary moments. I worked across the aisle to get this legislation to increase recipients’ pensions passed and signed into” (January 21, 2026).

Later that day at 19:32 UTC, he posted an update simply stating “Happening now! https://t.co/WW5lBI2PVh” (January 21, 2026).

In another statement at 22:49 UTC, Pappas commented on campaign finance reform following a major Supreme Court decision: “With the Citizens United decision, the Supreme Court overturned limits on independent political spending by corporations and billionaires. It has corroded our democracy and flooded it with billions in dark money. It’s time for us to put the power of our democracy back in the” (January 21, 2026).

Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019. He previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980, Pappas continues to reside there and holds a BA from Harvard University.
