U.S. Representative Chris Pappas, who serves New Hampshire’s 1st congressional district, has recently posted a series of updates on social media covering military honors, federal service funding, and proposed legislation on gas prices.
On March 10, 2026, Pappas reflected on an event honoring a World War II soldier from Seabrook: “Last July when presenting a Gold Star Lapel Button to the Saracy Family in honor of Private Daniel E. Janvrin Jr. of Seabrook who was killed in action while serving our country in World War II, we learned his Purple Heart was missing. Yesterday I was honored to present that https://t.co/tJbschLxwt”.
Later that day, he addressed the importance of federal agencies and funding: “Grateful to our TSA agents in New Hampshire and across the country for working to keep us safe. The Republican majority in Congress has blocked bills that would pass overwhelmingly to fund TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA, and other vital services. I’ll keep fighting to get that done.”
On March 11, 2026, Pappas turned his attention to energy costs and new legislative efforts: “Granite Staters are facing higher prices at the pump because of President Trump. So I’m introducing the Gas Prices Relief Act of 2026 to: Suspend the federal gas tax through October Require oil companies to pass these savings on to consumers Put more money in Granite https://t.co/RfKqbk7E32”.
Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st District since 2019 after replacing Carol Shea-Porter and previously served in the state legislature from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and currently residing there, he is a Harvard University graduate with a BA earned in 2002.
