Chris Pappas, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, has recently shared his views on various legislative and social issues through a series of tweets. Pappas, born in Manchester in 1980, has been in Congress since 2019 and previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. In his communications, he has addressed topics ranging from health funding concerns to child care shortages and affordable housing initiatives.
In a tweet dated April 22, 2025, Pappas expressed criticism towards the current administration, stating: “This administration has put their own extreme political views over the health and well-being of millions of Americans by freezing Title X funding. I helped introduce a bill to protect and support Title X for the thousands of Granite Staters who depend on it.”
On the same day, at a later time, Pappas highlighted the issue of child care shortages as both a family and economic concern. He urged the administration to take action: “This administration needs a reality check. The child care shortage is a family issue as well as an economic issue – Head Start sets our kids up for success and boosts our economy. I urge them to listen to families & providers who benefit from Head Start.”
Additionally, Pappas met with the Northern New England Housing Services and New Hampshire Housing to visit updated affordable housing units. In an April 22, 2025 tweet, he noted: “Yesterday I met with @NWSNH and @NHHousing to tour updated affordable housing units in downtown Manchester and discuss the importance of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit for our communities. I’m pushing to expand and strengthen this credit as we tackle the housing shortage.”
Chris Pappas, 42, continues to engage with community members and organizations to address these pressing issues, working to support health, educational, and housing initiatives.
