Rep. Chris Pappas, a U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st District, has recently shared several updates on his activities and initiatives through social media posts. Pappas, who has been serving in Congress since 2019 after replacing Carol Shea-Porter, continues to focus on veterans’ affairs, national security, and community engagement.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Chris Pappas expressed his enthusiasm about his new role as Ranking Member of the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that veterans have access to essential services such as education, employment, housing, and transitioning to civilian life. “Thrilled to be serving as Ranking Member of the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.”

Later that day, Pappas highlighted his representation of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and its personnel. He noted that a new Waterfront Production Facility would enhance the shipyard’s ability to support America’s national security objectives into the future. “It is an honor to represent the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and the men and women who serve there.”

On February 12, 2025, Rep. Pappas announced the opening of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in New Hampshire’s First District. He provided guidelines and instructions for participation in this annual event aimed at encouraging young artists in his district. “This 2025 Congressional Art Competition is officially open for high school students of New Hampshire’s First District!”
