Concord, NH – The Christa McAuliffe State House Memorial Commission is now accepting artist proposals for the life-size bronze sculpture of Christa McAuliffe to be placed on State House grounds.

The sculpture shall be unique, dynamic, accessible, and approachable, highlighting Christa’s commitment to educating the next generation and her selection as the first teacher in space.

Governor Chris Sununu signed Executive Order 2023-02 establishing the Christa McAuliffe State House Memorial Commission earlier this year.

“New Hampshire is seeking a world-class artist with a visionary design proposal that pays tribute to the life and legacy of Christa McAuliffe – a New Hampshire hero who ignited a curiosity for exploration and learning in so many,” said Governor Chris Sununu.

Proposals are due by July 31, 2023.
