A Honduran national, Ever Calderon Ramirez, was arrested for unlawful reentry into the United States after being deported twice. Acting U.S. Attorney Jay McCormack announced the charges against Calderon Ramirez, who is 27 years old and was residing unlawfully in Manchester.

Calderon Ramirez appeared in federal court on one count of unlawful reentry. According to charging documents, he was deported from the United States to Honduras on April 7, 2017, and again on September 28, 2018. On September 22, 2024, law enforcement encountered him in New Hampshire driving a moped with two young children without helmets.

The statute under which Calderon Ramirez is charged provides for a sentence of up to two years in prison, one year of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.

The investigation was led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Hunter is prosecuting the case.

This arrest is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs). The operation combines resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

It should be noted that the details contained in the charging documents are allegations. Calderon Ramirez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
