(Washington, DC) – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) hosted the 12th annual Experience New Hampshire reception, where Granite State businesses, restaurants and vendors from around the state showcased their products and services, including beer, wines, liquor, coffee and specialty foods, for policymakers and government officials in Washington.

“It was wonderful to see so many New Hampshire vendors and organizations here in Washington to show our nation’s leaders and industry representatives everything New Hampshire has to offer. And as those who attended saw – we have a lot to offer!” said Senator Shaheen. “Granite State entrepreneurs produce world-class goods, so it’s important for folks outside of New Hampshire to see and understand the outsized impact that our small but mighty state carries. Thank you to the New Hampshire State Society, the participating vendors and all those who helped make the 12th Experience New Hampshire a success.”

At the Experience New Hampshire reception guests enjoyed gourmet foods and drinks from restaurants, vineyards, breweries and culinary training programs from across the state, while also learning more about the culture and tourism opportunities in New Hampshire. The event, which took place in the Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building, drew attendees including the New Hampshire Congressional Delegation – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) – alongside Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD), Mike Crapo (R-ID), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Angus King (D-ME), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Ed Markey (D-MA), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Jack Reed (D-RI), Pete Ricketts (R-NE), Tina Smith (D-MN), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Jon Tester (D-MT), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Peter Welch (D-VT) and other federal government officials.

Participating businesses included: Lickee’s & Chewy’s Candies & Creamery, Lakes Region Community College, Granite State Candy Shoppe, New Hampshire Maple Producers Association, Echo Farm Puddings, Port City Pretzels, High Liner Foods, Jack’s Crackers, Walpole Creamery, the New Hampshire Food Bank, Brew NH, Great North Aleworks, LaBelle Winery, Throwback Brewery, Stoneface Brewing Co., Smoky Quartz Distillery, Rockingham Brewing Company, New Hampshire Institute of Politics at St. Anselm’s, New Hampshire Travel and Tourism, White Mountain Attractions Association and more.

Speakers at the luncheon included U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), U.S. Department of the Treasury Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and Dr. Nora Volkow, Director of the National Institute of Drug Abuse at the National Institutes of Health.
