The City of Laconia announced on Apr. 24 that it will host a Family Sidewalk Chalk Art event on May 1 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. The event is intended for children ages two to twelve, accompanied by an adult.

Organizers say the activity aims to celebrate young artists in the community and provide an opportunity for families to participate in a public art project. Children will be able to create chalk drawings along garden paths, with all materials supplied by the city.

“Let’s celebrate the young artists of Laconia! Come make your mark in sidewalk chalk on the paths through the garden. We can’t wait to see what you create in this community art project. We will provide the materials, just bring your creativity!” organizers said.

Events like these are designed to encourage creativity among children and foster community engagement through accessible activities. The city emphasizes that participation requires supervision by a grown-up, ensuring a safe environment for all attendees.

The announcement highlights ongoing efforts by Laconia officials to support family-friendly programming and strengthen connections among residents.
