The City of Lebanon announced on Apr. 28 that the deadline for voters to change their party affiliation ahead of the 2026 State Primary is Tuesday, June 2, 2026. After this date, registered voters will not be able to alter their party affiliation or make changes at the polling place on election day.

This information is important for residents who plan to participate in the upcoming primary and want to ensure they are registered with their preferred political party. New voters can continue to register up until election day as allowed by law.

Voters are encouraged to check their current party affiliation using the New Hampshire Voter Information Lookup tool or by reviewing a public voter checklist available at Lebanon City Hall, located at 51 N. Park Street. Those wishing to change their party must complete a voter registration form at the City Clerk’s Office during regular office hours from Monday through Thursday between 7:00am and 5:00pm, or attend a Supervisors of the Checklist session on Tuesday, June 2 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm at City Hall.

Voters registered as Undeclared do not need to select a party before the primary; they may choose which ballot they wish to use on election day. In contrast, those already registered as Democratic or Republican will receive only the ballot corresponding with their declared party.

Residents with questions about these procedures are advised to contact the City Clerk’s Office via its secure contact portal or by calling (603) 448-3054.
