The City of Lebanon announced on May 8 that construction and utility work will take place during the week of May 11 as part of the Mechanic/High/Mascoma Street Roundabout Project.
This update is important for residents and commuters who may experience delays or need to adjust their routes due to ongoing infrastructure improvements in the area.
According to the announcement, contractors and utility companies will be installing drainage structures and continuing with utility cable transfers. The city advised drivers to expect delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
Pedestrian traffic will also be affected. The south side sidewalk on Mascoma Street, adjacent to Eastman Automotive, will be temporarily detoured to the north side near Tanglez N Tanz between Granite Street and the crosswalk leading to Mascoma River Greenway. Detour signs have been placed in these areas for guidance.

The city’s continued updates aim to keep the public informed about construction progress and ensure safety for both motorists and pedestrians during this period.
