The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announced that day and night construction work has started on Interstate 95 northbound and southbound between Mile Marker 8.0 and Mile Marker 13.3, with the project expected to continue through September 2026.

According to the department, the work will include installation of median barriers and guardrails on I-95 beginning just north of Mile Marker 8.0 in North Hampton, proceeding north through Greenland, and ending just north of Mile Marker 13.2 in Portsmouth. To facilitate this work, single lane closures and shoulder closures will be implemented on both the northbound and southbound sides of I-95.

Uniformed officers will assist with traffic control throughout the duration of the project. The department reminded road users to adhere to the Move Over Law (Sherrill’s Law) when approaching the work area and to drive carefully through the construction zone.

Road users are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic-related messages via text or email from newengland511.org.

Sargent Corporation of Freemont, New Hampshire is serving as general contractor for this $4.6 million project, which is scheduled for completion in September 2026 according to the official roster page.
