The New Hampshire Republican Party announced on X that Governor Kelly Ayotte’s initiatives include strengthening law enforcement cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, reforming the bail system, and opposing Democratic immigration policies.
According to the New Hampshire Republican Party, Governor Ayotte has taken significant steps to enhance public safety by empowering law enforcement agencies to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This initiative aims to facilitate the deportation of criminal illegal aliens, thereby strengthening the state’s security measures. The party emphasizes that such actions are crucial in maintaining law and order within New Hampshire.
As reported by the New Hampshire State Police, the state has entered into a memorandum of agreement with ICE to allow local law enforcement to assist in immigration enforcement efforts. These agreements are designed to target individuals who are in the country illegally and have committed crimes, ensuring they are apprehended and removed. Ayotte supports these collaborations as a means to protect communities from potential threats posed by criminal illegal aliens.
According to the New Hampshire Bulletin, Ayotte has also focused on reforming the state’s bail system, which she described as broken. She advocated for legislation that would grant judges greater discretion to detain defendants pretrial, particularly those who pose a danger to the community. This move is part of her broader strategy to enhance public safety and ensure that the justice system effectively addresses repeat offenders.
