The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will hold a prehearing conference to discuss proposed improvements to the NH 25A bridges over Brackett Brook and Baker Pond Brook. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 9:00 AM in Conference Room 161 at the NHDOT headquarters in Concord, NH. This public meeting is held under RSA Chapter 91-A and aims to prepare for a public hearing on February 5, 2026, in Orford.
The purpose of the Orford projects, identified as numbers 40366 and 41390, is to address the deteriorating conditions of these bridges. The bridge over Baker Pond Brook ranks #44 on the state’s priority list for repairs in the 2024 State Red List Summary, while the bridge over Brackett Brook ranks #57. Improvements for the Brackett Brook bridge will extend approximately nine hundred feet east from two hundred seventy-five feet west of Upper Baker Pond Road. Meanwhile, enhancements for the Baker Pond Brook bridge will cover about eight hundred twenty-five feet east from three hundred seventy-five feet west of its location.
