The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announced a prehearing conference will be held on May 11 at 10:00 AM to discuss proposed improvements to roadway and bridge conditions along NH 101 and Swanzey Factory Road.
According to the department, the meeting will take place in Conference Room 161 at 7 Hazen Drive in Concord. The Commission appointed by the Governor and Executive Council will convene to plan for a public hearing on the project, which is scheduled for May 28 in Keene. The meeting is a public session under RSA Chapter 91-A, but testimony will not be taken at this time.
The department said, “NHDOT programs and services are administered by the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all applicable regulations to ensure nondiscrimination. Should you need this information in alternate formats, please contact the NHDOT Public Information Office at info@dot.nh.gov, or by phone at (603) 271-6495, PO Box 483, Concord, NH 03302-0483, TDD access: Relay NH 1-800-735-2964.”
The purpose of the Keene 41590 project is to address roadway and bridge conditions along NH 101 and Swanzey Factory Road. The corridor currently requires frequent pavement repairs due to a failing underlying concrete slab and drainage deficiencies. Frequent crashes occur at the intersection of Swanzey Factory Road and NH 101 because of sight distance issues. Additionally, the NH 101 bridge over the Branch River is structurally deficient and listed on the State’s Red List.
Highway Layout Commission members for this project are Terry Clark as Chairperson, Mitch Greenwald as Commission Member, and Ken Kost as Commission Member. More details can be found in the organization’s press release.
