The City of Lebanon announced on Apr. 27 that the parking area in front of 20 West Park Street in downtown Lebanon will be closed to vehicles starting Monday, May 4, and will instead be used for seasonal outdoor seating. The closure is set to last until mid-October.

The change means that parking spaces in this section will not be available during this period. The city said the goal is to create more space for outdoor activities and dining throughout the warmer months.

A map showing the closure location has been made available by city officials, who also noted that alternative parking options are located within a short walking distance from downtown.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to use public transportation as an alternative. Advance Transit buses provide free weekday and Saturday service connecting Lebanon with Hanover on the Blue Route, and with West Lebanon on the Red Route.

City officials said they look forward to welcoming people downtown during the summer season and invite everyone to participate in what they describe as a vibrant community experience.
