A public hearing is scheduled by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) to discuss the replacement of a culvert on US Route 1 over the Little River in North Hampton. The meeting will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the North Hampton Town Hall. Plans will be available for inspection from 5:30 PM.

The project aims to replace the current four-foot by four-foot stone box culvert with a larger nine-foot by seven-foot precast concrete box culvert. This upgrade is expected to improve hydraulic conditions of the Little River and address issues such as inlet and outlet scour. Additionally, enhancements will include a wildlife shelf and improvements to pavement conditions and shoulder width on US Route 1.

Local residents, officials, and highway users are encouraged to attend and share their views on the project. Audio recordings of the hearing will be made available. Interested parties can review maps, plans, environmental studies, and other related documents at the NHDOT office in Concord.

For those unable to attend, written statements can be submitted to Tobey Reynolds, Assistant Director of Project Development at NHDOT, until October 9, 2025. Contact Jason Ayotte at (603) 271-3921 for appointments or further information.

NHDOT ensures that its programs comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prevent discrimination. Alternate formats of this information are available upon request through their Public Information Office.
