On June 16, 2025, Rep. Pappas expressed concern about potential budget cuts affecting Medicaid beneficiaries in Dover. He stated that he listened to “powerful stories from Granite Staters who rely on Medicaid” and voiced his commitment to continue “fighting for the programs and services that they need.” “Last week in Dover, I listened to powerful stories from Granite Staters who rely on Medicaid and are scared about severe cuts under the Republicans’ budget.”
Later that day, Rep. Pappas highlighted an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office regarding the impact of the Republican budget proposal. According to him, it would result in financial losses for poorer Americans while increasing incomes for wealthier individuals. He emphasized the accuracy of these figures by stating “FACT: Under the Republicans’ current budget, the poorest Americans will lose $1,600 a year while the wealthiest’s incomes would increase by $12,000.”
