Rep. Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed constituents on social media regarding the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on families and local organizations.

On October 16, 2025, Pappas wrote, “I know for many families in New Hampshire this government shutdown is very stressful. My website has up-to-date information on impacts to federal services and programs: https://t.co/ok6FGorCIT

The following day, he highlighted concerns about delays affecting social service organizations in New Hampshire. On October 17, 2025, he posted, “The clock is ticking for NH social service organizations which deliver critical services to Granite Staters, and time is of the essence for working families that rely on these programs.

Chris Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st District in Congress since 2019 after previously serving in the state’s House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and a graduate of Harvard University with a BA earned in 2002, Pappas continues to reside in his hometown while serving his constituents at the federal level.
