Rep. Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st congressional district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address several key issues affecting his constituents, including health care, public safety, and domestic manufacturing.

On August 8, 2025, Pappas highlighted the importance of local medical facilities by stating, “New Hampshire health centers provide vital care to our families and communities. This #NationalHealthCenterWeek, I’m standing with our health centers and professionals against health care cuts that are harming their ability to operate and serve Granite Staters.”

Later that day, he turned attention to public safety roles at military installations: “Hardworking firefighters and air traffic controllers at Air National Guard bases like Pease keep us safe. The National Guard wants to lay them off. I’m urging them to exempt critical safety roles from these reckless layoffs.” He included a link for further reading on the topic.

On August 9, 2025, Pappas referenced the anniversary of significant federal legislation: “3 years ago, the CHIPS and Science Act became law. It’s a testament to the smart ways we can invest in domestic manufacturing. I’ll continue working to boost U.S. manufacturing so that we can lower prices for working families and strengthen our economy.”

Chris Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Carol Shea-Porter. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980, Pappas continues to reside there today. He is an alumnus of Harvard University, where he earned his BA in 2002.
