Rep. Chris Pappas, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, addressed several issues in a series of posts on social media between January 8 and January 9, 2026.
On January 8, Pappas responded to an incident involving law enforcement in Minneapolis: “The shooting of Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother and U.S. citizen, by an ICE agent in Minneapolis is outrageous. The American people want law and order, they want their communities to be safe, and they want dangerous criminals off the streets and brought to justice. What https://t.co/V0seuXxBKz”.
Later that day, Pappas participated in a remembrance event with former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and other colleagues: “Honored to join @GabbyGiffords and my colleagues on the floor earlier to remember those lost 15 years ago today. It is our responsibility not to turn a blind eye to the senseless gun violence that occurs far too often. We must work to save lives and make our communities safer.”
On January 9, he commented on legislative developments regarding healthcare: “We made important progress in the House this week to extend the ACA premium tax credits. I know how urgent this is, and we’re not giving up. https://t.co/r5Webwtxsk”.
Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 and previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1980, he currently resides there and graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 2002.
