Rep. Chris Pappas, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, shared several messages on social media addressing both celebratory and critical topics. His posts range from personal greetings to concerns about federal policies affecting veterans.
On May 11, 2025, Rep. Pappas extended his wishes for Mother’s Day to all mothers and mother figures in New Hampshire, affectionately known as the Granite State. He stated, “Wishing a happy Mother’s Day to all moms and mother figures across the Granite State!”
The following day, May 12, 2025, he criticized the Trump administration’s approach to veteran healthcare services. He expressed concern over reductions in VA staff and services that impact veterans dealing with cancer, addiction issues, and homelessness. In his words: “The Trump administration is putting the health of our veterans at risk by slashing VA staff and services for those suffering from cancer, struggling with addiction, and experiencing homelessness.” He emphasized that such actions are “incredibly alarming” and asserted that “veterans deserve better.”
Later on May 12th, Rep. Pappas attended an event celebrating small businesses in New Hampshire at the SBA NH’s 2025 Awards Ceremony. Reflecting on the significance of small businesses to local economies and communities, he congratulated award recipients including Dr. Tanya Lawson who was named NH Small Business Person of the Year. He remarked: “It was great to celebrate NH small businesses at SBA NH’s 2025 Awards Ceremony this morning.”
Chris Pappas has served in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 after previously serving in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010.
