Rep. Chris Pappas addresses Nashua events and education funding cuts

Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019, addressed several issues in recent posts on his social media account, including an ongoing situation in Nashua, education funding, and the observance of Rosh Hashanah.

On September 21, 2025, Pappas commented on a developing event in Nashua, stating: “I am closely watching the events in Nashua as the situation develops, and my thoughts are with all those involved. Thank you to local law enforcement and first responders who are on the scene.”

The following day, September 22, 2025, he highlighted support for GEAR UP NH, a program assisting students with post-secondary education preparation: “GEAR UP NH serves over 4,000 students and helps prepare them to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. That’s why I’m fighting for the restoration of this program’s funding which the Trump Administration canceled last week. Read more: https://t.co/8XlLFHrJGF”

Later that evening on September 22, Pappas recognized Rosh Hashanah celebrations: “To all those marking the beginning of #RoshHashanah tonight in New Hampshire and throughout the world: L’Shanah Tovah! Wishing you a sweet, safe, and prosperous new year.”

Chris Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st District since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in Congress in 2019. He previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and currently residing there at age 42, Pappas is also a Harvard University graduate.
